Once referred to as Soft Skills, the non-technical and behaviourally focused competencies which are in high demand amongst employers worldwide are now considered Power Skills.
Mia Kabillio, Product Marketing Specialist at corporate thought-leader, Skillsoft, claims that Power Skillsare the new currency of the modern workforce and encompass intangible and uniquely human traits such as written and oral communication, public speaking, and critical thinking. Kabillio shares that “these skills have become increasingly crucial and highlight the importance of adaptability and problem-solving capabilities”.
According to Skillsoft’s 2023 ‘Lean into Learning Report’, “employers are prioritising power skills across organisations.” Furthermore, a survey from Salary.com has power skills consistently ranking among the most in-demand skills that organisations seek from employees.
