High performers are distinguished by a combination of skills, traits, and habits.
These include a strong work ethic, a proactive mindset, continuous learning, effective communication, and the ability to manage time and tasks, while adapting to ever-present challenges.
Throughout all this, high performers maintain a positive or optimistic attitude while following processes that will permit them to achieve the most desirable outcomes.
During a recent meeting with performance coach, David Buttifant, Director of Resilience Builders, and a highly respected performance coach, he shared his condensed – yet comprehensive – list of traits which he believes high performers possess.
The 5 C’s of High Performers
Courageous: Professional and personal courage empowers high performers to make bold decisions.
Curious: An innate curiosity to find a more effective, or more efficient way of achieving desired results helps high performers to stay ahead of the pack.
Committed: Coupled with high levels of decisiveness, high performers model a higher level of commitment to any given task.
Competent: While their behaviours (soft skills) are often exemplary, they must also be highly skilled in their chosen field.
Coachable: High performers desire to maintain their status allows them to be hyper-receptive to coaching and support that will further develop them and their respective teams.
